Commissions CLOSED by Changinghand

If you're interested in a commission, feel free to send me a note or e-mail me at:

mattlara.art@gmail.com

*Terms of Service:

PLEASE READ.
Prospective clients must read and understand these guidelines before commissioning me for work.

• I won't draw gratuitous violence, gore, hateful (i.e. homophobic, racist, misogynistic), or pornographic imagery.

• I have the right to refuse a commission request.

• I have the right to issue a partial refund/cancel a commission due to poor communication, late payments or unreasonable demands.

• I retain distribution rights to the commissioned artwork (i.e. create prints, merchandise, etc.) unless otherwise stated.

• Commercial illustrations may change the pricing and handling of artwork.

• Unless a commercial request, the Client may not re-distribute, reproduce, or profit off of artwork.

*Pricing:

• Pricing will be done at a fixed hourly rate of $25 USD per hour.

• Standard canvas size and work space will be 8.5x11" (2550x3300 resolution) at 300 DPI.

• Smaller or larger canvas sizes are available upon request.

*Why Hourly?

The hourly rate is a more accurate way to work and keeps me from both overcharging clients and underpaying myself. You'll also get higher quality art as it allows me to work on a larger space, and keeps me from working very small to keep the cost down. I want to give you the best work possible so that you can enjoy my art both on screen or printed.

*So How Does This Work?

Just send me your ideas! We'll discuss what it is that you want; subject, details, sizing, etc. Once we both agree and are happy, I'll then work towards completing your image in a timely manner and give you a final price based on the hours used to complete. Completion time for a piece depends entirely on how complex and detailed the subject matter is, as well as the canvas size.

*I Have A Budget/I'm Unsure Of the Cost:

No problem, and don't hesitate to ask me even if you have a budget. I understand that most people are operating on a budget and don't have a studio's ransom to pay. Just let me know what your budget is and I will do my best to work with you in that timeline.

Please also refer to the commissions page above for examples of my work. Each is labeled with detail amount, size, and price. You can use these samples as a metric of where your piece may fall in terms if pricing. Note: Prices may vary from sample images depending on complexity.

*Can I Pay In Installments?

Absolutely. Let's say you have an idea for an 8.5x11" illustration that costs $200, but you only have $150. You do have the option of reducing the size and detail to fit within that budget. However, you can also keep the image at 8.5x11" and I will work the image as far as I can within the $150. You can still come back when you have the remaining money and I will work the piece for a additional hours.

*So What Can I Request?

Pretty much anything, so long as it fits within the above mentioned guidelines! Just e-mail me your ideas and we can start from there.

*Payment method:

• Payments are done through Paypal using U.S dollar currency.

• Payments are done in two steps. Half payment after review of the final rough, and remaining payment after reviewing finalized image. Once the final payment has been received, the Client will then receive the full size image and any related files.

Hm.. I am, of course, interested. The chances of me being able to buy something aren't very high, but I am still interested.

I would need to know what kind of prices you have, though, just to have something to work with. Do you happen to have a recent completed commission I could see, with how much it was for the characters/detail/etc?
